NEW YORK – May 13, 2015 – PRLog — On Friday, May 15 at 6 pm, Victoria Global, ARCHIVE Global and The Soho Loft Media Group will host an electrifying one-hour performance of Bizet’s Carmen produced by New York City Opera Renaissance, the effort to revive the New York City Opera led by hedge fund manager Roy Niederhoffer and opera impresario Michael Capasso. Invited guests include a select group of business leaders and philanthropists as well as top names from luxury brands such as Chanel, Fendi, Breitling, Chopard and Michael Kors, among others. “This event will be a one-of-a-kind performance in a unique venue — a spectacular downtown Manhattan penthouse,” according to The Soho Loft Media Group Chairman David Drake (http://thesoholoft.com/david/), a NYCO Renaissance Board Member.
Director Michael Capasso condensed the four acts of the famous opera into 60 intense minutes. The audience is transported to a Spanish mountain tavern, where we meet the naïve Spanish soldier Don Jose, who is seduced by Carmen, a gorgeous and hot-tempered Gypsy. Helpless to resist, Jose leaves his childhood sweetheart and deserts his military unit for a life of crime with Carmen and her smuggler friends. After Carmen falls for the charismatic bullfighter Escamillo, the famous finale resolves the love triangle in tragic fashion.
